Though the sun did shine through on occasion today, it was mostly overcast with gusty winds making it feel colder than the indicated temperatures. I don't think it got above 62°F (16.6°C) as a high temperature.
The lighting being what it was, I postponed the trail ride from the Sierra Vista Trailhead until a sunnier day.
Instead, I drove into town and did some light stimulation of the local economy with trips to Harbor Freight and an O'Reilly's Auto Parts. It was at this particular O'Reilly's that I finally found a replacement 2.5" LED Amber Marker Light with rubber grommet for the front bumper on Mariko.
The original one had disappeared (fallen off) before this RV trip and I'd been searching online and local auto parts store as I traveled south with no success until today.
Picked up a pair of seat covers that are water repellent as well in case Mariko is ever out in the rain/snow with the soft top off. Hopefully it'll also keep the seats somewhat clean as well. They've got some minor stains from the PO that I need to get around to cleaning.
So, installed the replacement marker light and bonded it to the bumper with some silicone sealant, installed the seat covers, put the soft top back on as the cool weather just made it no fun with the top off.
Listened to podcasts from both Adventure Rider Radio and The 4x4 Podcast in the afternoon while I felt the URRV ocassionally rock due to the gusty winds. Rearranged the recovery gear so that I can keep all the tools in the locker and moved the tow strap to a niche in the engine compartment, securing it there with some metal zip ties I bought today.
Sunset was not great, what with the wind chilling things quite nicely and the sun not really getting through the clouds very well:
Though the wind mill looks like it was spinning very fast....and it was but not that fast to blur things, that was a function of the sub-second exposure times used for the above pics. Mariko's lights being so much brighter than my motorcycle headlights, I have to remember next time to reduce the F-stop setting to avoid the star patterns you see.
Tomorrow there's a 68% chance of snow now, though only .3" forecasted. I hope to go to a local Flea Market to look for "stuff" and pass the time.
Oh, Happy Chinese New Year! Martha reminded me of this fact and I went and got myself a bunch of Chinese Food Takeout that should last me a few days. Nothing like comfort food while sitting in the URRV while its really cold and windy outside!

I love the windmill photos. Growing up the last of ten kids on a big farm in Texas where we relied on our windmill until about 1968/69 I have great memories of the both the look and sound of a windmill. Seeing windmills still working in fun.
Glad you enjoyed some podcasts. :)
Thanks Oz... windmills make great foreground objects for pics....
The motive fits perfectly with Mariko, Dom. These kind of windmills are always something reminding me of old Western movies. Just missing the tumbleweed...
Thanks SonjaM.... I think I've only seen one tumbleweed this trip so far, perhaps more once I get to Arizona.
