Hiked several miles, deeper into the dunes than yesterday, seeking that perfect formation of white sand coupled with the right light.
I saw many dunes, too many caught my eye as you can see below.
I parked Scarlett next to the entrance to the lot called
West Filming area, thinking there'd be some nice dunes.
(I think it's just a special lot for film crews)
Man, way too many pictures of dunes, I think I'll be good with such for a while now.
I returned back to the campsite by Lake Holloman, just about 4 miles away by way of US70.
The time then came for what turned out to be a pretty gorgeous sunset. The good colors didn't come out till after the sun had set behind the mountains to the west of course.
Yep, that's my view from the campsite.

Even the last glowing lights were superb tonight,
I used a tripod and long exposures of course to
capture them with an ISO of 100 for post-processing.
Speaking of post-processing, not much to do besides eliminating dust spots! Mother Nature made capturing a nice sunset pretty easy tonight.
Tomorrow, I think I'll start heading towards Tucson, AZ.

The sand is so brilliant white. It really does look like wind blown snow...
I should have worn my sunglasses, was feeling a bit snow-blinded at the end.
Blinding! I needed to wear sunglasses while looking at your photos, Dom. You need to sell your pics. They are marvellous.
Thanks SonjaM, I should have worn sunglasses! As to selling, one has to find buyers first. :)
