9/11 - 22 Years Ago

Doesn't seem like so long ago, so much blood and treasure spent since then, seemingly for no positive return...

The generation since then, probably think of it as old history, that is if they even heard of it in school.

NEVER FORGET

It was, and continues to be, surreal in my mind. I wish I could articulate something positive that grew from that day but as you say it just seems blood and treasure was spent for no positive return.

Granted, what do I really know about the results of all those wars and battles beyond what I read or see on television. A distortion of the truth and reality no doubt. The politics of it at the time seemed simple and direct but I can't help but think of what American journalist H. L. Mencken had this to say about quick fixes: “Every complex problem has a solution which is simple, direct, plausible — and wrong.”

All the wind from politicians of all stripes that I hear who live by the soundbite just can't seem to wrap their heads around complex problems.

Oh well, going for a ride will clear my brain of all that crap.
