Another nice warm day here in Southwestern Arizona.  The temperature would hit a high of 88°F (31°C) and I would spend most of the day again just lounging about the campsite, reading and enjoying the warmth.

Around 4:00 PM, I got on Yagi, my 2006 Yamaha TW200 and meandered around the area looking for interesting lighting as the sun worked its way down in the west.

Here's a view of the campsite from a nearby hill, just to give you an idea of the vastness of the place:

I found, somewhat, the lights and shadows I sought after much riding around, this is from near the rail line that parallels Road 605, perhaps around MM 20 or so.

Sunset came and the lighting afterwards showed great promise:

And then, it was like the sky just caught fire:

As things grew darker, the hues got deeper into the reds, making for some nice colors:

Not so nice a day in terms of weather, though the temperatures would be in the mid 60s at their high today.  I spent the morning doing some more meandering around with Yagi, checking out the pass which had defeated me before:

And yes, it defeated me again, I barely got to the below spot and chickened out at that point:

Top Hat Mountain

Signs of Spring, are beginning to be noticeable around here.  A lot of the bushes are sporting small yellow flowers;

There aren't a lot of Ocotillo Cacti around here but I did spot one that was sprouting red buds of sorts:

End of the road on Trail 609

More signs of Spring, small yellow flowers on the ground, in spots almost like a yellow spotted carpet of greenery.

I wonder if they're called Butter Cups...

Exploring Trail 607, I came upon this security camera setup, surrounded by a small fence and signs declaring it a restricted area.  Not sure what it was monitoring, the only thing nearby was a nearly dried up cemented water tank.

Got back to the campsite by Noon and it clouded up pretty fast along with some pretty strong winds at times.  It even rained, very sporadically, on and off all afternoon.  Not much in terms of moisture or accumulation of course.

I managed to walk outside during a brief period of sunshine and managed to catch this rainbow:

As the sun started to set, I managed to position the camera to capture the rays of light coming through the clouds:

The actual sunset itself wasn't much of anything.  I've got a camper in a Class C about 1/4 mile away from me as company.  I also saw the lights of a vehicle drive by in the dark as I typed this.  Not sure where he went, but he definitely went deeper into the range.
