Saturday-Monday, March 5-7. Not much to report for the last 3 days. Weather has been mostly sunny with periods of very strong winds which tend to cool things down a bit even in the bright sunlight.
There were a couple of firsts though for this area and for me. In all my stays in this Air Force Range, I'd not seen much in terms of wildlife, I spotted these early one morning:
The other first was that I even had a short visit from the fish and wildlife agent to see if I had checked in and had a permit. Glad that there's someone checking I guess.
I also did some repair work on the cheap saddlebags I use on Yagi, my 2006 TW200. Rain and neglect had caused them to deform a bit and the way the are secured to the bike rack needed tweaking.
Really though, just been going through a lot of e-books and enjoying the solitude. I did return to the nearby town of Ajo to do some laundry but I can't say it was a major event.
One confirmation though of my impending forgetful dotage... I bought a small switch at the NAPA store in Ajo then managed to leave it on the counter and drive all the way back to the campsite. Once I realized my mistake I got to enjoy the 20 mile drive back on Scarlett my 2014 Ural Patrol sidecar rig, to retrieve it! All this during very stiff winds! This with the high cost of gasoline, wasn't really a smart thing on my part eh?
The switch will eventually replace the Ural's failing ignition key switch. What I thought had been a replacement assembly from home turned out to be the old switch.
Tuesday, March 8 The Cacti Hunt
SonjaM recently requested more pictures of Big Cacti, so this morning's riding with Yagi was to fulfill her request.

Nice collection of cacti photos.
Thanks for the feedback RichardM.
Thanks CCjon.
This is exactly how I imagined the Wild West when I was a kid.
