Martha and I rode Scarlett, my 2014 Ural Patrol Sidecar Rig the six miles or so to Council Rocks. It's the rocky site that is believed to have been a meeting spot for the Cochise Indian Tribe, located on the north end of the Dragoon Mountains.
It also has a few petroglyphs to check out. Here's a link to a previous trip with closeup view of said petroglyphs: LINK
The path leading up to Council Rocks has eroded greatly since the last time I was there, care should be taken when walking it.

On the way back, a last look at the rock formations
near Council Rocks.
We drove to Tucson in the morning, stopping at a KOA in Benson, AZ to dump tanks and take on water and propane. We're using about a gallon of propane a day due to the cold conditions and running the catalytic heater at night.
We're camping in the BLM area known as Snyder Hill on the southwest side of the city of Tucson. The place was not as full as I've seen it from other trips when we got there and we snagged a good spot.
After lunch, Martha and I went for a short hike up to the top of Snyder Hill. The path was very rocky and steep at times. Not something you want to do in the dark!

The picture below shows the two peaks visible from this location. Baboquivari is in the Buenos Aires NWR and Kitt Peak is home to a well known observatory.
