A Day of Fall Colors in Telluride

 Tuesday, October 1

Chris, Lori, Martha and I spent the day driving to/exploring/driving back from Telluride, CO.

The small mountain village is enclosed by mountains on CO Hwy 145 and it took us about two hours driving each way.

We first drove all the way to the trailhead for Bridal Veil Falls.  We didn't get too far along the first hiking trail and the second one proved difficult as well.  Still, some Fall Color was captured.

Next we checked out the town park before lunch:

We had lunch at the Stronghouse Pub which was located near one of the Gondola Stations.  These stations run in the summer, for free, to get one atop the several ski slopes that Telluride Ski Resort maintains.

It was pretty cool to ride the gondolas up and down, checking out a couple of stations and views along the way.  Oh, and of course, more Fall Colors.

Soon after the last gondola ride, we returned to the car and drove back to the campsite without incident.  Long day of driving, everyone was tired and we went to bed early.

We loafed about the campsite on Wednesday and plan on departing on Thursday the 4th towards Montrose, CO.  More to follow.

Loved this whole set of fall colors, especially the one with water reflecting the yellow leaves.
