Visiting with CCjon and Amparo

Yesterday, we drove the VRRV to the outskirts of Houston, TX and set up camp at a HipCamp location near Cypress, TX.

HipCamp is kind of  like the airBnB for campers.  Small privately owned locations, with just a one to a few sites.  

Anyways, we got in to the one that's a small family farm with goats that were used in Goat Yoga services.

One of the owners even gave us a brief tour of a project they're working on, the restoration of a double-decker bus which eventually will be used for tours.

Martha and I drove over to CCjon's home and met him and his lovely wife Amparo.

After visiting for a bit, we went out for dinner.   CCjon drove the four of us into northern Houston to a Pappadeux Seafood Kitchen.  

I was convinced by CCjon to try a

drink called "The Swamp Thing"

It was quite tasty and potent.

An appetizer we tried was Blackened Gator Tail, it too was quite tasty.  Before you ask, yes, it did taste like chicken!

The dinner proved to be a delicious repast of Cajun-seasoned seafood and great conversation/story-telling.  I of course ate too much and The Swamp Thing made Martha the designated driver when we left CCjon and Amparo's home later that evening!

Saturday, we met up again with CCjon and Amparo for some more enjoyable visiting and for me to help verify CCjon's setup of solar charging for his rig:

We went for lunch at a local Tex-Mex restaurant called Juanita's.  The food was delicious and now we have a better idea of what Tex-Mex should taste like!  

I may have over-ordered a bit....

Back again to CCjon's home and we spent some time talking about their travels, with emphasis with their trip to northern Spain.  

We head to Galveston, TX tomorrow.  A great visit with CCjon and Amparo!
