Martha and I checked out the Upper McKinney Falls in the morning:
I liked the way the tree roots developed...

We then headed into South Austin to check out a store called Uncommon Objects, which, in keeping with the Austin city motto of "Keep it Weird", offered a rather large assortment of such.

Hunger satisfied, we returned to the State Park to check out the Lower McKinney Falls.

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing at the campsite. Not a bad campground in terms of sites which include electricity and water. There's decent separation of sites and it wasn't very full, the campground.
The sun never did make it past the thick overcast, but at least it was warm enough for t-shirt and shorts! Though I did do some riding with Yagi, my TW200 around this state park, no pictures generated. It was quite overcast most of the day and as you saw, not much to pose the motorcycle by....
Tomorrow, we head for the Houston area.

T-shirt and shorts….sounds and looks good!!
Glad it was warmer than it looks. Forecast says sunshine starts on Sunday.
That BBQ looks very good.
Drive careful around Austin, at least you won't have to drive through Houston to find us.
There are several good bbq places in and around Austin. Texas bbq is hard to beat. McKinney Falls SP looks great. Never camped there.
Good job of not spending money on so many great treasure in that store :)
Coop, it was pretty nice...
CCjon, this trip thru Texas in Winter has been enlightening.
I think we'll be driving thru Houston though when going to League City.
Oz, yes Texas BBQ is delicious. Watch out for the surly young woman at the state park's gate, I think she's there as part of her court mandated community service.
