Last Day of Spring Sunset

I used the title Summer's Eve Sunset on Facebook to originally post these pictures, then I was reminded of the feminine hygiene trademark.  Doh.

It was a record breaking day yesterday in terms of temperatures.  99°F (37..2°C)!   Definitely a scorcher, but it did produce nice cloud formations and lighting conditions for this Spring season's last sunset:

As you can see, Fiona my '99 Ural Patrol with the '84 R80 Beemer engine is back on the road.  I received the replacement Final Drive mounting studs yesterday and replaced the two outer studs, leaving the two inner studs for the next time I have the final drive unmounted from the swingarm.

I also replaced the engine oil/gearbox oil on Fiona and Scarlett's engine oil.  It was a bit early for both but the oil was looking dirty and this way I can now use their respective odometers to schedule future maintenance.

Pretty fiery sky. Is that why it's so hot?

Fiery skies are provided usually with the right sun/cloud combos.....as to why its so hot....I just hope it doesn't stay this way through the summer! We usually don't get close or past 100 till August.

The first, third and fourth images are exceptional. I've always loved the Denver skyline off in the distance but the color and atmosphere of this one stands out from others.

The third picture has a lot going for it with the sky and light and the way the rig is illuminated. I kept asking myself "Did Dom use fill flash on that?" It's so easy to end up with a silhouette in that situation. Whatever you're doing, it's working. And the real test -- I'm not bored by the sunsets. THAT is an accomplishment because it could easily be the same old thing.

The only way the photo could be improved is if you substituted a Vespa for that rig. Or included yourself in the photo sans helmet...

Thank you very much Steve, means a lot coming from you.

No fill flash but there was post-processing with Lightroom software to lighten the shadows.

It would have been tricky, including myself...the angle involved with the camera, the timing, the weird looks from the "interlopers" invading my sunset watching spot with their cages...

Brilliant, I really love the first picture with its mountain and city contours.

Danke SonjaM, this time of year is apparently a good time to frame the skyline with sun rays if the clouds cooperate....

My favorite photo is of Fiona and the sun rays radiating out from behind her. So cool. :)

BeemerGirl, thanks, that one has been quite well received.
