Didn't do much during the day, was resting up from the riding yesterday down to Monument Valley and back. It was actually a nicely warm day but a bit windy at times. I did retrieve from General Delivery at the Mexican Hat post office a six foot pole with safety flag to be used in riding sand dunes; but for now, to serve as marker for the VRRV....to clue people in to the fact the present campsite is "ocupado".
In the late afternoon, Yagi and I rode out towards Muley Point atop the large mesa that is accessible via the Moki Dugway. My original intention, as this was at least 2 hours before sunset, was to see how the colors were in the late afternoon:
Pixel 4a Pano, can you spot Yagi?

Today was dedicated to exploring the road one can see from atop Muley Point, it's called Johns Canyon Road.
I found the entrance to this road at mile marker 3 on the road to the Goosenecks State Park. The dirt road wasn't bad at all, though there were a couple of sections that were a bit bumpy and one section that had some noticeable dips and hills. Nothing major, certainly not for the T-Dub!
The start of the large mesa/plateau rock formation
of which Moki Dugway and Muley Point are part of...
The end of Johns Canyon Road
Downstream of the Johns Canyon Springs?
If you see these rocks, you just went past Muley Point
by about a mile.
Muley Point is right above...the balanced rock seems
to be about the center of it.
It's about a 15 mile one way ride to the end of the road, I returned the same way I came of course. Got back to camp with no issues except for the really strong winds that came with the afternoon!
