Colorado Day, 2019....and I'm now retired.

Greetings on Colorado Day, August 1st.

I was given notice by work yesterday, my job was eliminated.  This was expected, and we're good to go here financially.  Now I am no longer constrained by needing to have internet access when selecting a campsite!

Consider me retired.  Put a fork in me, I'm done.  I think I will enjoy being a "kept man" since Martha wants to work for a few more years.

Timing-wise, here's a compilation of pics from August 3, 2018 to today.....same music as the 2018 version of this series: LINK

Hope you like it.

Congratulations Dom on your retirement! Many Happy Trails as you ride out the sunset of a great career, one in which you worked hard and provided well for your family. Will be looking forward to seeing where the sunrise of this new season of life takes you without the constraints of needing cell coverage and grid access!

Thank you Laura and Andy. Definitely a new phase of my life, for which I've admittedly been practicing! :)

Congratulations Dom. I was forced into retirement 8 years ago, while my wife continued working until a few months ago. Apparently my male pride didn’t notice that I was a kept man. Retirement is great!

Thanks Garth, looking forward to selecting a camping site without having to consider whether Internet access is available....the possibilities have just opened up!

So how long before you are actually done? Time for a retirement trip!

Lucky coincidence, they made you redundant and you are ready for it. Good for you, Dom. For me it's another 15+ years before I get to retire... well, that's the official version. I quit when I am ready to quit ;-)

Enjoy your retirement to the fullest.

Congratulations. I am far away, light years to retirement, but I join in your joy.

Congrats Dom!

You beat me by 5 months. Enjoy not being on call, no work email, and having to time your road time such that you are able to pull over to perform the maintenance. Enjoy the sunsets, good wine, good food, and good times with friends and family.

Congrats Dom. Not sure I'll make it to the end of time, 29 days for me. Need a partner in crime?
Happy Colorado day

Thanks Spat....still have some mixed feelings about being retired, and what crimes were you planning? :)

Dom, they say retirement is not all cracked up to be much... actually it's even better than what they say. Much better. Enjoy the life out of it.

Loved that video, you put a lot of work into the photos and the video, it shows. Superb job. Looking forward to what photographic surprises you have in store for us in your retirement. Am enjoying watching your photography skills develop and grow. Keep pushing yourself, you have not begun to reach the limits of your abilities....

A wise photographer once said when we think we are done, nothing more to give, try something new.
