Happy New Year!

Another year has come and gone, several trips, many changes, a year older though I wonder about the wiser part.   :)

Here's hoping 2018 is a great year for you and yours!  Thanks for sticking with the blog and my meanderings.

Total mileage ridden in 2017: 10,272 miles broken down by motorcycle:

Scarlett:  Ending odometer reading 51,607.  9938 Km or 5962 Miles

Brigitta ('87 BMW R80): Ending Odometer 99,714.  1298 Miles (Still Pitiful)

Fiona: Ending odometer: 4674 (odometer replaced at 19777), 5021 km or 3012 miles.

RV Stats:

We went glamping with Umarang, the URRV, for 72 days.  She took us Utah, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona and several spots around the great state of Colorado.

Brilliant visual summary, Dom. Wishing you and your family an awesome New Year. Keep on rolling, and keep on writing about it. Cheers from the warmed-up Black Forest (17°C today). SonjaM & RolandM

Best wishes to your and your family Dom for a happy, healthy new year.

Looking at your year in review video I was struck by how much your Colorado landscape with the snow covered mountains looks like the landscapes in the Lord of the Rings movies. Sweeping vistas and such. And the music you chose helps strengthen that feeling for me. Just an odd observation on my part I guess.

You ride a lot. Whenever I feel stuck in my head about riding or need some inspiration I check your blog. As I've said before, the big skies and western mountains are magic. Not Vespa country, but full of freedom and thrill.

Stay safe.

Happy New Year to you and Roland, SonjaM. Wishing you the best of hikes and travels and riding (maybe all three on same trips?). I still envy you both your primo location.

Thank you Steve for your very kind and flattering words, coming from a photographer like you; it must mean I've made progress towards better shots. I used to ride a lot, but as one can read from the year end mileage reports, it's coming down. Working from home and trailering the rig will do that, but hopefully that results in less down time for the rigs.

Ride safe and Happy New Year to you and Kim, looking forward to hearing of a speedy resolution from her doctor and seeing more of your photography.

Beautiful summary video. As to the wiser part, you have not just one but two Urals…

You can interpret that statement any way you want! ;-)

Thanks RichardM, as to having two Ural rigs....a spare comes in handy! That and apparently I don't learn....Fiona is my fourth Ural rig.

Happy New Year to you and Bridget and your families.

I enjoyed the video and 72 days of camping is pretty good. I think you had a good year overall.

Happy New Year to you and Martha and the kids.
