Timeline:
03FEB: Invoice signed. Expected ship date: 24FEB.
Snow-apocalypse ensues, at least that's what the East Coast was claiming as having messed up planned shipment schedules and logistics. Shipment of two URAL Crates now delayed to 04MAR.
04MAR ship date missed. Winter weather blamed.
10MAR ship date missed.
12MAR: URAL Crates finally head out from South Plainfield, NJ Service Center used by Old Dominion Truck Line. Original pickup location: Carteret, NJ. Confirmation notice and tracking info given to Unique Rides. ETA (with heavy emphasis on the estimated part) is 20MAR14.
13MAR: Crates reported as "loaded out" in Carlisle, PA. at 11:00AM MTN. It appears the crates containing the two URALs destined for Unique Rides are being "relayed" across the country so far.
14MAR: 12:24 hrs: Shipments shows as "Closed out for Commerce City, CO". I am assuming at this point, it'll be the same truck all the way to Commerce City, which lies in the NE portion of the Denver Metro Area.
19:23 MTN: Shipment in Transit, Columbus, Ohio.
15MAR 0723 hrs: Shipment shows as arrived in Columbus, OH. No actual time reported.
13:39 hrs: In transit to Edwardsville, KS
16:29 hrs: Reported as arrived in Saint Charles, MO, more than halfway to Edwardsville, KS.
16MAR: 0700 hrs: Went to bed last night with the tracking website saying "arrived in Saint Charles, MO", just checked and it says "arrived, Edwardsville, KS".
2003 hrs: Now enroute to Commerce City, CO. Maybe the driver likes to drive at night.
17MAR: 0352 hrs: Shipment reported as "Arrived, Denver, CO"
0723 hrs: Cargo being reported as "unloading, Commerce City, CO". There it will sit today as Unique Rides is not open on Mondays.
19MAR: 12:51hrs: So, it's been over two days, now reported "sitting on the dock" in Commerce City. I'm guessing the crates will sit there till tomorrow morning.

It seems like it's been a long time. And that's just the perspective of a casual observer...

Well RichardM, if you consider the whole process started when Valencia's engine imploded again on 25JAN, yes, it's been a long time. Heck, I thought the original ship date of 24FEB to be a long time...how little I knew of the vagaries of shipping things during Winter.
As I heard in a movie once SonjaM: From your lips to God's ears! Or something like that.

It won't be long now. Your Ural has been shipped and there are tracking numbers. Not the same as waiting for the truck after the snow storm stops whenever . . .
It would seem that you should get your new Ural by next weekend.

Its looking good so far Bobskoot....and weather is supposed to be good too.
I love watching shipments move across the country with these great web tools. Most of the time things move quickly but seems your URAL is taking the scenic route. I can only assume someone has uncrated the bike and is riding along with the truck and they'll recrate at the Colorado border, or after they stop for some recreational weed.
I get no sense of your emotional state in the post. You must be a patient man!

Hi Steve, yes...the posting doesn't reflect the manic checking for updated status so all appears to be zen-like patience on my part.
It never occurred to me that they would be moving at URAL speed....sigh. Oh, and the driver stopping once inside Colorado borders to have a toke....wouldn't surprise me. After all, I live in the state that not only legalized pot first, but its governor asked for funds from the taxes collected from said sales of pot to pay for a program to warn kids abou the dangers of drugs.
The web tracking tool isn't very granular....I went to bed with it reporting "in transit, Columbus, OH", I wake up to "Arrive, Columbus, OH".
I want to see realtime movement....I bet the NSA knows where the truck is right now.
The NSA knows everything. They must get really bored. Tracking a URAL is probably the high point of some analyst's day and they probably have to resist having the shipment diverted to their home.
Consider the shipment URAL foreplay. It will make its arrival more powerful.
It looks like it made it next door in KS. Shouldn't be too much longer. But then again it all needs to be assembled…

It takes 10 hrs from Columbus to Edwardsville KS so I figure he'll overnight there. Then yeah, another day to Commerce City perhaps, the Fort Collins day after that?
I am thinking they might take tomorrow, Sunday, off?
Sun and I feel for you Dom. We ordered the in stock Gear UP, Stormin' Norman, on the last of Feb. 2013 and got the same merry go round with the bike delivered in Oregon, just before April 1st. Our Ural estimated time of arrival and actual arrival was over a three week difference.....so we know exactly how you feel!
Ural time, including east to west trucking time, has no clock or calendar meaning apparently! Good news, is after a little while of riding the new bike arrival delay didn't seem so important.....but makes us wonder why other truck freight goes and somehow Ural freight is so leisurely!
We share your Ural-less sense of loss, as ours awaits surgery in dealer repair bay. Hope we both are on three wheels in a week or less! GlennandSun

Trobairitz, yes, patience is something I rarely achieve....
I thought that patience was a necessity when touring with a Ural.
RichardM, riding at Ural speed is enjoyment....the patience required there is all the fools who rush by hurrying to some destination.....
