However, there was tweaking done afterwards using mostly the sharpening tool at ribbett.com, it not only sharpens edges but darkens things nicely as well.
A herd of demonic-eyed deer crept up behind me as I shot the above
photos.....they got quite close before I noticed them.

Very nice sunsets. The evil eyed creatures were waiting for you to take off as their DNA required them to jump in front of you.
That turned out well, a little tweaking is in order ;-)
Watch out for the demon deer, it is almost halloween, by the end of the month they will have turned completely into something scary...
RichardM, the deer are also very quiet....one moment there's nothing behind me, the next I have a whole herd eyeing me.
SonjaM, the day I find a camera that sees what the eye sees, I'm marrying it. :) As to the demon deer, I was looking for them on the ride home in the dark....they were back in hiding it seems.
Sneaky deer. Better watch your back.
Great sunset. You seem to have stunners in your area.

I've never heard of Ribbett.com but I like
http://pixlr.com/
they are probably both similar but Pixlr looks more like the photoshop interface
I am lucky that we don't have deer anywhere around here. You have quite a few there just waiting for you to leave
It is hard for any camera to mimic what you see because of the limited dynamic range of the digital sensor. The best you could do is shoot HDR to compress the range to match your sensor, or to tweek as you are doing

Trobairitz, I swear each time I turned around to look at them, they were a bit closer....
Bobskoot, ribbett was created to fill the vacuum left behind by piknik.com after google bought them and ruined the interface/tools involved. I just find it easier to use and results are what I want.
