I woke before dawn on Sunday, my internal clock probably sensing the oncoming season change, and I rode out of my still sleeping neighborhood to find a spot to pose Valencia, my 2011 URAL Patrol Sidecar Rig, by the light of a gorgeous dawn's incipient sunrise.
Timing dictated the nearest location, in this case, the parking lot of the Home Depot in the Southlands Shopping Mall.
Fall Season's First Dawn
Cropped version of above scene
Lovely colors, don't you think? I am hoping it presages a very good Fall riding season for all of us.

Simply brilliant. Thanks for getting up that early.
Thanks Sonja
What's in the background? My imagination says Mars colony.
Beautiful colors!
RichardM, yep, the colors were definitely beautiful that morning. As to the tall tower structure, its the marque of the movie theater in the mall, as viewed from the side. Nothing as cool as a Mars Colony....
At that time of day I wouldn't be able to find my keys, let alone a camera. So thanks for taking the picture from all of us late risers.
Canajun, didn't want to reveal this detail but when one's bladder calls, one must heed it.

Your photos have a tropical feel to them. You just need palm trees
so glad that the Home Depot washroom was open and you managed to hold back until you got there

Riding the Wet Coast
Rest assured Bobskoot, there was no need for the Home Depot's bathroom. No palm trees here, too much humidity needed and I can do without that....
Never has there been a more perfect sunrise/parking lot picture. Very nice.
Just gorgeous photos!!
Thanks Lucky....
Trobairitz, well thank you but I wouldn't say "never"....now set your alarm clock and lets see an Oregonian sunrise. :)
I'll wait a few months then sleep in and take a nice sunrise photo before lunch...
