Went out twice with the snow blower and by later afternoon, the snow fall had abated to just light snow mist.
Chores done, I went out for a short ride on Valencia to check out road conditions. Predictably, the roads were snow-covered in the neighborhood, with good accumulations on the road sides. The main roads were no better, with about an inch of snow covering them as well and very slick!
I tried to keep Valencia in 1WD, and managed to do that for most of the ride. Towards the end of the ride, I got tired of the back end trying to fishtail on me and engaged 2WD, things were much easier after that.

I went by the auto parts store to get engine oil for Martha's car, prepping it for our upcoming week in Arizona, visiting with her Dad and seeing the nearby sites such as the Grand Canyon and perhaps the Big Crater.
I love snowy weather. :)

Of course you like snowy weather. Isn't that what your hack was made for?
Arizona is always worth a trip, we went to the Grand Canyon in 2011 but didn't make it to the Big Crater. Please do that for us and post some pics ;-)

I just had lunch with someone who flew up from Denver yesterday. I guess it was pretty messy and they sat on the ramp for an hour and a half before being allowed to leave. I starting to think that roads with a layer of snow are more fun than clear pavement.

You and I are going to have to have a serious hack rig conversation sometime before the summer. I am intrigued with this 2W on demand arrangement. I saw one for a BMW GS but it was unbelievably complex and rather custom.
I think you like to ride in the snow to show all of us how it is done.

RichardM, the storm took people by surprise after the non-blizzard before it. Just goes to show, Colorado weather can be quite unpredictable at times.
As to snowy vs dry pavement, you know my choice!

Jack, good to see you online...I stand ready to talk sidecars with you anytime. The setup you saw on the GS was probably the Mobec setup which is being used by fellow rider Murph of wherethehellismurph.blogspot.com. He seems happy with it though he did have some initial issues due to poor welding.

Oh, I ride in snow to defy the snow gods that trapped me for 36 days of not being able to ride during my first year of riding, I swore then it wouldn't happen again.
