Hanging out in the Indian Bread BLM Recreation Area

Sunny but cool today, I don't think the temperature reached 60°F (15.5°C) which was the forecasted high.

The sunrise was meh but it was a good opportunity to test the new camera's capabilities in low light conditions.  Some post-processing was again involved.

I was using f8 to achieve the sunburst when the sun broke past the small hilltop to the east of my campsite.  Not bad.

I did get some Cactus Wrens wandering near the URRV and it was a good chance to use the zoom capabilities of the new camera:

More zoom testing, note the little red spot by the rocks....she's with the camper you can see on the right, they were parked at a nice distance from my campsite and had come in last night in the dark.  I bet they had such fun parking their rig.

Now how did I know it was a she in the red jacket?  Zoomed in to 728mm, the max optical zoom setting:

I'm really liking the zoom on this camera!

Didn't really do much, the cool winds dissuaded me from riding until nearly 3:30 PM and then it was just some short riding to explore other possible campsites.

Upon my return, I found this shithead from TX setting up camp damn near my campsite, sigh.  What part of dispersed camping don't some Arschlöcher understand I continue to wonder.

This of course cemented the decision I'd been weighing whether to leave tomorrow morning!  I'll make sure to make lots of noise, bright and early tomorrow.

To get the telephoto shots even sharper, use a tripod and set the camera for a 2 second delay when shooting. That will allow the camera to "settle down" and avoid any finger pressure.

Having the built in zoom feature I really enjoy too. No extra lenses to carry or look for when you need to zoom in fast.

The star bursts are wider and softer than what you we're getting before. I like the softer look.

Thanks for the feedback CCjon, I'll see about using a tripod when possible though the pics seemed sharp enough? I like the wider softer starbursts, I'd had doubts whether an F8 aperture would achieve such so am satisfied even though not like previous starbursts achieved with much smaller apertures.

Language, Dom ;-)

The zoom is awesome. You seem to have made a great choice with your purchase.

I'm getting worse in my C.O.B. ways, SonjaM. Testing continues on the camera but the zoom is definitely nice.

Looks like the camera is performing well, hope it can stay with you. I certainly enjoy the zoom on my Lumix, easy to always have along and I'm a very lazy shooter as you know.

Shoot

Post processing means watching it upload to the blog

Thanks Coop, I'm feeling pretty good about the camera right now but we'll see. Thanks for the feedback.

Wow the zoom! Sweet! I also like the starburst. I didn’t think it would do that at f8.
As for the Texas neighbors 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Thanks for the comments Bluekat....am glad it did achieve the starburst.... Not so glad about the interloping SAW.
