A Hot Colorado Sunset

We're experiencing quite the heat wave here in Colorado, went out riding for a bit at mid-morning and it was already in the high 80's at that point.

Worked on Scarlett, my 2014 URAL Patrol Sidecar, disabling the parking brake on it as it appears to be causing the pusher wheel brakes to "grab" even when not engaged!  This causes performance and heat issues as you might imagine.

I followed fellow Uralista Darrell's mod, the disconnection of the parking brake cable from the lever attached to the cam on the caliper and keeping the lever in place with a bolt:

This evening, sunsetwx.com predicted a good sunset for Colorado so I rode out with Scarlett to see what we could see:

 Denver Skyline

Added the Ian overlay to bring out the colors

It was still 80 degrees Fahrenheit as we pulled into the garage after the sun had set.

I really like the middle two shots of the skyline, Dom: The sunlight shafting down through the clouds is cool. Great captures.

It looks like it was threatening rain?...

Thanks Ry Austin, unfortunately, no rain. We could really use it too.

I've always liked it when sun beams shine through....

The last one is a lovely composition, Dom! Visit Iceland, its perfect Ural territory, and "too hot" is a term the natives only use for hot springs and spas.

Danke SonjaM, came out pretty good in post-processing. Iceland sounds intriguing indeed. Tricky part would be finding a Ural there....

You guys are getting some toasty weather. Sure made for a pretty sunset.

Thanks Trobairitz, the weather guessers were calling it a "heat dome" pretty much covering the middle and western portions of the country.

A week with no new posts!?

Well, RichardM, I could say I am in the grip of non-riding ennui brought upon by the heat dome that I think is still parboiling most of the lower 48....

Or I could say matters such as finding #2 son a replacement for Milli, she with the seized engine, and debating whether to try and keep the X5( named Schnitzel ) by #1 son or give up on its sometimes costly repairs and trade it in for a new car for Martha....

But in the end, I've really no excuse.
