Had some company this time while waiting for the sequences to be shot. A lady in her car chatted with me a couple of times as we enjoyed the setting sun. Then after the sun had set, a gentleman from Russia stopped by to chat about the URAL Sidecar Rig.
"Clouds" Setting: 5 sec intervals
"Sunset" Setting: 10 secs intervals.
And, here's the video compilation of the three videos I shot. The last one was only 1/3 the length of the second one. Make sure you select 720p or 1080p in settings to get best quality viewing.

Nice sunset! Beautiful colors. I like the time lapse videos.
You could add narration in post such as video settings, or comments by the Russian gentleman or maybe even read poetry.

RichardM, thanks....I added a bit of music. it's only 23 secs so not much to pack in there....23 secs, which took about an hour to collect.....hmmm, the ROI may be suspect.

Dom you're making it difficult to ignore the time-lapse software for the camera. I don't do video, haven't wanted to open that can of worms, but you're making it difficult!
About a month ago I picked up an a5000 when they had a nice little sale that I couldn't resist. I'm barely used to the new camera and here you are tempting me with the time-lapse.
Your videos are lovely. The sunsets/rises are fun to watch and the colors are beautiful.
Do you have any video editing software or do you just use youttube? Video really is a foreign world for me.
Bluekat, I think you're going to like the A5000, darn thing is smarter than me sometimes and does the grunt work for time-lapse shots...mind you, you have to download and pay for the time-lapse app as I mentioned before, it's only 9.99 and beats doing time-lapse by hand or with required external timer/activators.
Just don't do like I did today, and add in some under-exposure then shoot the rest of the day with the under-exposure still enabled! That incurred lots of post-processing with not 100% happy results.
As to photo editing. I have a "process". First, tweak with the tools at ribbett.com for such basics as level, re-size, and usually, their "auto fix".
Then, upload to photos.google.com, edit with their tools, and enhance the photos usually with the "details" tools and the "selective" tool to brighten spots that are too dark or in the shadows.
Then, since there's always a dust spot or 12 on the lenses, I use CS5 photoshop to remove the dust spots, blur away background "artifacts" created by the previous tools, remove objects which detract from the picture (signs and light poles usually, along with wires).
Sounds like a lot but once you do it a few times, it really enhances the photos. The A5000 though, gives you a big headstart as it produces rather good photos right from the get go.
Bluekat, about time-lapse video...using the app from Sony, it's all done for you. You then add music with either Windows Live Movie Maker or the video editor tools in youtube.com. Not hard.
Thanks Dom for all the great info. I have photoshop, but no video software (that I know of). I'll look into the online links you mentioned. I have been very pleased with the photos from this camera. I've hardly gotten out of the auto settings, yet it does a great job without much input from me.
