Back Again in the Buenos Aires NWR

Almost six years have passed since I was here apparently....I didn't think it had been that long!  The last visit: Link

After doing chores in Ajo, AZ, it took about two and a half hours to get to the NWR. I transited the Tohono O'Odham Nation along the way.

By 3PM I had camp setup at one of the designated camping spots along FR227 within the NWR.

There will be more pics of the above peak.  Known as Baboquivari and sacred to the Tohono O'Odham people.  I've previously camped much closer to the peak.

Nice sunset photos! You seem to be moving more frequently. Looking for the perfect, undiscovered spot?

Thanks, RichardM. Moves are usually dictated by weather or whether I've fully explored the area. For instance, the area in the NWR is quite familiar even though it's been years since I was last here. Now the place has a noticeable increase in Border Patrol presence, to include a blimp with surveillance cameras about 11 miles away straight line distance. Supposedly the cameras can spot a person up to 18.6 miles away!

I did some more googling and Gemini searching and found some videos showing the output of the cameras used by the blimps. You can tell it's people if you are within 5,000 m or so or about 3 mi. Further than that I think it can detect motion by either vehicle or people but not really get a good picture. Apparently the process then is for the blimp to send the GPS on the sighted person or vehicle than the nearest for eyes on checking out.
