After a good visit by the boy's maternal Grandfather: Richard, I drove Uma, the URRV, trailering Scarlett, the 2014 Patrol and mounting Yagi, the '06 Yamaha TW200 on the front bumper rack towards Cañon City.
I transited through this medium sized town and drove north towards the Oil Well Flats BLM area.
Though a bit sketchy in parts, I managed to drive Uma on BLM trail 6941 to the junction of 6941A and thence to Campsite 16. I'd been in the area before so the recce had already been performed, negating the need to first check things out with Yagi.
There were other campers in the area but not too many and the sites are pretty far apart and secluded.
Tuesday, Apr 28
Did some coordination work and analysis with the realtor via emails and calls during the morning, relaxing in the warm sunshine and doing a couple of maintenance chores on the URRV.
In the afternoon, I rode Yagi a few miles north to the Red Rock Canyon Park, run by Cañon City's Park Department. The restrooms and picnic areas were closed for Covid-19 reasons but the rest of the park was open for use.
There's basically one main dirt road that traverses the park and takes one past neat rock formations, picnic areas (closed) and a couple of restroom spots (also closed). I rode all the way to the other entrance to the park, located by Seep Springs, a BLM area; then I turned around retracing my way.

I remain enthralled with the landscapes in which you ride and dwell. I maintain a fantasy of freely roaming the country on two-wheels, or perhaps on two-wheels supported by a chase RV vehicle. In either case, I have the opportunity to explore.
The red rock areas always seem otherworldly to me. Those spires of rocks seem relics from some alien civilization or extraterrestrial waypoints from eons ago. I suppose those thoughts reveal my active imagination which unfortunately now is focused on creating a post-pandemic, post-apocalyptic world. Not a good place to spend much time in.
I continue to watch the local motorcycle dealers and Craigslist for a T-dub. It seems as if it would be the perfect companion for me in the surrounding state forests and mountains. I haven't worked out a scheme though to win Kim over to the idea of adding a third machine to the garage. And I'm not ready to surrender either the Vespa or the K75.
First world problems.

Steve, thanks for the comments, I too seem to have a predilection for red rock formations but my thoughts are scarcely as deep as yours!
You visit some great areas. I love the red rocks. Have you spent time in the Tarryalls? I like the unique landscape up there.

Talking with a realtor are we.... did not know BLM land was for sale, but then maybe with all the incentive money the Feds are handing out, they need to raise cash.
Interesting the BLM restrooms are closed, I rode out to a Texas state park yesterday, the park office was closed but the boat launch and restrooms were open.
You are finding the nicest areas to explore. Keep the dispatches coming, enjoying them all.

Lol yes we’re all burning with curiosity about that realtor remark. The red rock formations are gorgeous. The green foliage around them sets them off. It’s probably less green as summer moves in.
