Unfortunately I do not have a great vantage point for a sunrise photo while commuting. Often I see a great sky but the powerlines or buildings get in the way. We had a great moon last week but no where to pull over. Maybe next time I'll try pulling into the Cemetary
Dom, what a stunning photo. You are really lucky. My commuting is like Bob's across the city, and doesn't leave much scenic view. I will start commuting on a bike later the year, and hope to catch some interesting pictures from the road as well (it might involve some detouring for sure...).
Great shot. I ride east for my commute to work. I enjoying watch sunrises.
Really nice lighting. And it was a great excuse to be a bit late for work. But then again is there such thing as a bad excuse? These days all of our sunrises and sunsets are to the south so I rarely see them.

I'm not saying your photos will be improved or look worse but make sure you are not on iA mode, then experiment with EC (exposure compensation). You will see immediate results on your screen as you + or -. Sometimes a little overexposure changes the colours a bit. The Lumix line tends to overexpose a bit burning out the highlights.
next time try slow speed sync. There is an icon in scenes mode with person and moon behind, and turn flash on for fill flash. I think you can set flash for minus EC then you will still get the sunset, via ambient light and the fill flash will light Natasha. I would set for -1.5 or more and see what happens

I shoot six pics, two with the person with moon behind scene mode, two with landscape, and last two in iA mode.
I may force the flash next time but really, not seeing much diff between the three modes mentioned.
The second shot looks great. I like the colors and you can just make out the bike. When I first saw the picture I was wondering what the white dot was (looking at the site on my phone) but it showed up well once I clicked (tapped) on the image.
