Wanted: Chained Drive Guru in Denver Metro Area

Hoping to have all the parts on hand this upcoming weekend to change out the sprockets and chain on my 2006 Suzuki V-Strom.

If there's someone in or near the Denver metro area, who has done chain swaps and sprocket swaps, especially on a Suzuki V-Strom, I request your expertise and presence as I try my first swap.

The task itself does not appear complicated but someone overwatching me as I do it would be most welcome, especially if you see me about to do something stupid. : )

I am amazed that no one has posted a reply. Probably because you are the most capable mechanic we all know due to your Ural advantures, and if you don't know, then we obviously won't know either.

the only Guru I know of is Greywolf on the Stromtrooper.com forum. you could start a new thread or send him a PM . He is a walking encyclopedia and knows everything about the V-strom

Dear Charlie6 (Dom):

My most recent knowledge of this procedure is about 35-years-old... But feel free to call on me for expertise.

Fondest regards,

Bobskoot, I am but a mere neophyte when it comes to chain drives, the ural had a shaft drive which is more in my comfort zone.

I know of Greywolf, good guy, and have already asked him questions re the process. thanks.

Jack, thanks for your kind offer, I shall keep it in by back pocket for when all hell breaks loose.

Dom,

I'd love to help, but it's kind of a drive. Plus, I don't really know anything. I could probably get through it. Hell, Jack could probably get through it, and last I heard he has a phobia of open-end wrenches. Best of luck, put up some photos when you get done. Call him for technical advice, should be a hoot.

I am willing but ignorant on this topic. Perhaps knowing that will help you narrow the possibilities!
