I left the Quartzsite area shortly after sunrise, taking a few minutes to dump tanks provided by the BLM LTVA. No lines that early in the day!
Soon enough, I was in the city of Buckeye running chores and getting groceries. The parking lot for the Walmart Supercenter was small and cramped; pretty sure I pissed off a local bt going the wrong way down a parking row. oh well.
After Buckeye, I transited through the widespread metropolis that is Phoenix. Once I escaped that morass of concrete and cars, it was an hour or so to the Picacho Peak Road exit.
I picked a different site from the last time I was here, it's closer to Park Link Road than the last one but more secluded.
I rested the afternoon noon away after setting up camp in temperatures in the mid to high 80s. A nice breeze kept things cool in the shade of the VRRV, no need for the big awning.
As things cooled off, a nice sunset closed out a travel day. I'll be here one more day I think before continuing eastward.

It's Martha's and I's 30th Wedding Anniversary today. I have no idea how she has managed to put up with me for all these years, but I am thankful.
Here's a link to the post where I hiked up to the top of Picacho Peak back in January of 2020: Hiking to the top of Picacho Peak,AZ
