We left the cesspool that is the Metro Denver area at 6AM and were safely boondocking near White Sands National Park by 5PM.
Long day of driving but worth it to spend the evening dining and drinking with our friends Chris and Lori Z!
Here's a pic of our rigs during the lovely sunset we arrived just in time to capture:
We'll be here all week...

Very nice! Say “hello” to Chris & Lori!
Thanks and will do, RichardM.
Looks like your escape was successful, don't see any snow in the photos.
Happy New Years to you guys. May you find new places to safely explore in 2023.
Isn't White Sands NP supposed to be a desert? The blue in the background looks like a lake.
Nice getaway, Dom. Temps must be a lot nicer there.
Yes, CCjon, we missed a big wind storm that occured the next day....90 mph winds! Thanks and Happy New Year to you and Amparo!
White Sands is a desert environment, yes, SonjaM....we're about 5-6 miles away though. The "lake" is actually a drainage point for Holloman AFB, so not exactly eco-friendly, and reported to stink apparently in hotter weather. Nice enough right now.
