Scarlett and I went out for a short ride around 10AM this morning, hoping to avoid the crowded traffic conditions we encountered yesterday when we went out shortly before lunch.
However, I managed to forget my main camera, the Sony A5000 and so the below pictures are taken with the phone built into my iPhone 6. Given bright lighting conditions, the camera does pretty well.
Snow still covers neighborhood and rural roads but with the temperatures soaring into the high 40s and low 50s Farenheit, I don't think the snow will remain for long. The main roads are basically dry with some snow and ice remaining in spots.
Update: Sunset, same area, same day, this time I remembered the Sony A5000:

Nice photos! The snow and empty roads look inviting...
thanks RichardM....I think your comment was driven by the fact you're presently surrounded by way too many cars....?
Not just too many cars but a lot of crazy motorcyclists as well. They dive between cars clearing them by mere inches as they race through traffic.
The light and hues of the late day images are great. Makes me want to go for a ride into dusk except it's dark here and the wind is blowing hard. Maybe tomorrow...
RichardM, yeah I've seen the lane splitters myself....very dangerous it seems.
Steve Williams, riding home in the gathering dark was interesting....kept watching for deer.
Beautiful photos Dom.
We actually got a light snowfall here yesterday. But the weatherman is promising more double digita before Christmas. No white Christmas for us.
Thanks David M, we're supposed to get more on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.....
Great pictures. The phone did a fine job. To the naked eye, you can't tell a different camera was used for the sunset pics.
Thanks Trobairitz, given good light, the iphone cameras of today do just fine. They suck in the dark though....
