But first a shot of the Onalaska mascot: The Sunfish
Ended up at the city park RV campsite (electric and water for $15) in town as the Wildlife Management Areas I checked out proved to not allow camping.
Of course, soon after I went riding after dinner, I found an unlisted-by-allstays.com WMA called Wild Rice. Dang it. Oh well. I let allstays know, perhaps they'll list it for future use by others. I also told allstays about the ones that now prohibit camping.
I found a small military vehicle exhibit near some grain silos:
Cobra Gunship
North Dakota, so far, is pretty flat. Basically farmland with the majority of crops being corn apparently.
Although I can now add North Dakota to the list of states I've ridden, I can't say that I've missed much by only getting to this state now, in my 12th year of riding motorcycles!
Feeling a bit let down. I'm almost certain I'll down I-29 towards Sioux Falls, IA tomorrow, leaving the rest of North Dakota for some other occasion.
Even the sunset was meh.
If someone out there reads the above and wishes to educate me on North Dakota's hidden wonders for motorcycle riders...I'm all ears but you better hurry as I'll probably head south soon after 9am tomorrow!
