Ash Wednesday Sunset
A pretty nice sunset for Ash Wednesday, Though I'm not particularly into the religious events associated with Ash Wednesday, it made for a good title for the posting.

Great photos! It looks like you are quite a ways from the rig in the first photo which is my favorite. Maybe because the sun is still above the horizon...
Thanks RichardM, I was a bit of distance away, but no more than say 200-250 ft perhaps? I was using the telephoto lens but it was barely out of its lowest setting so I could get more of the background.
I fully expected to see ashes -- either on you or the rig. Talk about deceptive advertising.
Lovely light and landscape. I'm always intrigued by the skies you have. Maybe sometime you can get close to the rig with the wide angle and just fill the frame with sky. Just like Blue Oyster Cult needing more cowbell, I need more sky!

I am so out of touch with religious rituals... I was worried about a volcanic eruption or a prairie fire or similar associated with ashes... ;-)
