Foggy Dawn

As the eastern portion of the US is being pummeled by what the weather guessers are calling an "epic snow storm",  we in the Denver Metro area woke to freezing fog conditions with a forecasted high today of 48°F!

I'd woken very early to help get my wife off to her last training rotation before she's ready to re-enter the workplace as a R.N.  (someone has to work in the family right?)

I noted the foggy conditions outside, my wife reported the roads were very foggy with visibility under 100 feet in some spots.  Of course, I had to ride out with Natasha, my '96 Ural, to get pictures!  Freezing fog, 21°F, low visibility....perfect riding conditions!

Visibility was indeed poor, about 100ft or so as my loving wife had reported on her way to the hospital.  Still, there was very little traffic in my home neighborhoods as I rode to the nearby high school to pose Natasha at one my favorite local background foliage locations:

I then wandered about a bit, trying a couple of other locations but the photos really didn't turn out well enough.  I then moved onto the junction of Quincy Road and Gun Club Road to catch the sunrise.  Many pictures were taken, and I think this one turned out the best.

The sun rising quickly burned off the fog I'd been riding in and another Saturday of good riding weather beckoned to the riders of Colorado.  For you riders out there under blizzard conditions, I have one word to say to you:  URAL.

Today is the birth date of one of the greatest presidents this country has ever had.  Happy Birthday, Mr President.  The country could sure use someone like you now, at the helm.

Sorry to say... but your pictures look like they are the same...
Please, try to change your composition. Maybe by using a shorter focal length. Maybe using the perspective and multiple secondary objects in front, and behind your motorcycle...

It's just an advice

hmm ... I like your fog photo very much. It sets a very nice mood and is quite evocative as well as tranquil.

Hi Chuck, glad you liked the fog picture....I do like shooting in the fog, but Scooter in the Sticks makes an art form out of it!
