A Return Trip to Perry Park's Rock Formations

Yesterday, after wandering about the area near Bee Rock, I headed down to Perry Park Blvd off of CO105 to get more pictures of the cool rock formations I had found there late last year.

The rock formations are near the Perry Park Country Club. I had not realized it the first time I found these rocks but I'd been there way before. In fact, it was one of the places that John, aka Sanoke, had guided me to while I still rode Gretl, my 2006 Honda Shadow Aero 750 motorcycle:

October 2006

Here's a link to the posting associated with the picture above: LINK I can't believe it took me almost 2.5 years to find the place again. Oh well.

So I went past the houses bordering the Perry Park Golf Course and rode by familiar rock formations:

I'd shot the above formations before, then I stopped to look at a real estate ad nearby

After reading the ad, which refered to the rocks as "Sleeping Camel", it hit me, I'd been here before! I can't believe I didn't recognize the camel when last I was here. Doh!! So here's Brigitta, repositioned so you can see the "camel". $99,900 gets you the above property including the rocks I believe!

I shook my head and chuckled at the "full circleness" of this discovery. I wandered about the area some more and after a walk-through on foot, decided the trail that led to the below rock formations was not as bad as it looked:

It looks worse than it actually was, I just had to take it nice and slow

These rocks made the above trail worth risking I believe

Not much else after the above pictures. The sun was setting and I could not get a good angle on the sunlit rocks bordering the golf course dammit. So I headed back towards CO105 which I headed North on as the temperatures cooled down to the low 50s.

The rest of the ride home was uneventful, a bit cold since the sun was setting and the clouds were moving in but not too bad. I got home around 1630 hrs, about 153 miles ridden yesterday.

Mileage Notes: EOM for Brigitta: 68755, Maria: 64,626. Total for JAN09: 1306 miles.
